As a licensed pelvic health and orthopedic Doctor of Physical Therapy, a certified doula and a coach, my mission is to support high-achieving women who are done suffering in silence. You will be cared for in a space that feels less like a clinic and more like visiting a trusted friend who happens to know a lot about movement and healing. Let's get you feeling good again.
You are active and performance oriented and now your body feels foreign and out of control. A traumatic birth, a nagging injury or new symptom has you feeling disoriented and overwhelmed. You just want the tools for how to return to the movement you love so you can hit the PR or sign up for the race without feeling guilt for prioritizing yourself.
You have read the books, followed the social media accounts, toured the birth center or hospital, but somehow you still feel unprepared for the empowered birth you are longing for. You are anxious about the pain, the tear, the potential c section and the general loss of control that birth might bring. You want to learn how to create the mindset and environment to access the epic birth you envision.
When my son was born, I entered postpartum as a clinician and left as a changed one. My first labor was Pitocin-induced and I came out the other side with debilitating symptoms which led ot two years of postpartum anxiety, depression, and insomnia in the middle of a global pandemic. I went to provider after provider and was told "to get support." My challenging experience brought me to despair and redirected my path to purpose.
I got to work creating solutions and obtained a doula certification, postdoctoral training and built a practice around a model of care that holds the whole picture, the things women are too ashamed to bring up in a standard medical appointment. The birth of my daughter— a true physiological, unmedicated, undisturbed hospital birth — brought the arc full circle.
I work with women navigating nagging injuries, birth preparation, postpartum recovery, pelvic floor dysfunction and the challenges during peri-menopause that fall through the cracks of conventional care. My practice is warm, evidence based and unapologetically whole-person.
A 60 minute one-on-one visit with me that includes your story, your struggles, your goals, a full body assessment, diagnosis and plan.
We will determine a plan that fits within your life based on the physical therapy assessment and your goals.
From there, it's regular one-on-one thirty minute or hour long sessions customized for you.
Coaching for high achieving women in the midst of burn out or in transition to mother.
Most common topics I can support you through include:
Let me help prepare you for birth the best we can. During our time together, we will chat about understanding the physiological birth, finding your birth team, partner pain relief strategies, push preparation, and more. After you've given birth, we can also have sessions to process your birth experience.
One of my favorite parts of my job is speaking on all things women's health.
I can adjust the topic to fit the needs of any size group or organization, but here are some topics I'm passionate talking about:
You do not need a referral for a physical therapy evaluation as Texas is a direct access state. You will need a signed plan of care within 30 days of starting treatment and I will assist you with this process by sending your evaluation to your preferred provider for their signature.
You can expect to be heard, seen and cared for at every session. Every session will be one-on-one with me. Each session will include a combination of full body assessment, manual hands on therapy, therapeutic corrective exercise, neuromuscular re-education, dry needling and patient education on how to supplement treatment while at home. You will be sent a personalized exercise program after each session to continue your progress towards your goals. Please wear comfortable clothes you can move in. The initial session will include movement and treatment.
I am an out-of-network provider in order to provide high-quality, one-on-one care. Payment is due at time of service with a card on file through our secure electronic payment system. Unfortunately, as a fee for service provider we are unable to treat any patients who have Medicare as their primary insurance due to current Medicare laws.
YES! I encourage you to bring your sweet babies and older kiddos because we understand the struggle of finding time for appointments. My clinic is inside my home and very child friendly complete with toys and a private feeding/nursing area.
It is never too early or too late to address your concerns. Most birth providers “clear” you to return to exercise at 6 weeks post baby; however, we can start working together much sooner if you are in pain or are dealing with dysfunction by gently re-connecting to your body. I treat all women at all seasons of life and can address your symptoms even if they’ve been a part of your life for a decade.
My clinic is located in Oak Forest, Houston. The address will be sent upon booking. Please fill out the form below and I'll get back to you within 2 business days.
Thanks for reaching out! Your message has been received, and I'll get back to you within 2 business days.
